Interesting Real Estate on the Web

I was browsing the web the other day, and came across some interesting real estate.

This shows the Searles Castle.  No it's not in Europe somewhere, but in Great Barrington, Mass. in the Berkshire mountains.  Interested?  It is listed for $15 million.

This next one gives an interesting twist to selling.  Win the farm by submitting an essay with $100.  After the Wallaces receive 3,000 entries, the contest will be judged by a third party.  The winning entry wins the farm.

To see pictures and a description of the farm, go to Winafarm.bravehost.com.
I'm not endorsing either of these properties, but just thought it was interesting.

Note:  In case you missed it, later in the day on yesterday's post, "What to Offer?", I inserted a link to the detailed break down of each item in the list of repairs or upgrades to the property.

Hey Kathy, the castle would make a great bed and breakfast. I wonder if you could get your money back in this investment.

      Grover,
Gee! How much would I have to charge per person per room? Maybe I could hire you to do the cooking and cleaning. How bout it?

    Kathleen,

I burned out a long time ago on fixers, I started investing in hotel/condos and never looked back. I just purchased a unit in a hotel/condo property located exactly 1 minutes drive from the main gate of DisneyWorld Orlando.
I Payed $169,900 for the unit, they appraised recently for $205K without the upgrades> I put 20% down and they gave me back 10% of that at closing so I only have 10% of my money in this deal and Im in positive cash!! The property is 15 years old currently with 10M being pumped into it right now in cosmetic upgrades, my unit came with granite countertops and stainless steel , all new furnishings and a 42 inch plasma and special kids room area with bunk beds and playstation standard. It's amazing, I reviewed other investors "monthly rental statements and they stay consistant at maximum occupancy with zero vacancies and they are constantly in $300+ dollars per month positive cash flow, that were able to show me first year cash flow + incentives of $20,590! This property brings you a 52% cash on cash return ! I am stoked! plus it's right on top of Disney World and families have used this property for 15 years so it's a rock solid family destination! That is what you want in a condo/hotel!! Busy Busy Busy!! I am thrilled with this investment and looking at buying another unit.

      Dave,
Thanks for the comment. I am certainly not opposed to hotel/condo investing. I have been learning more about it. Thank you for the information.
